"Green Gables" is located in Auchenflower, just 3.5km from Brisbane's CBD. Once you've gotten to know the suburb's hotspots (try Sprout BYO French Cafe). Walk to the legendary Park Road strip for great coffee and many restaurant choices or a little further to Rosalie for a wonderful selection of Eateries. Well worth checking out the newly constructed Frew Park - just a walk away on Milton Road and fabulous for kids. Frew Park
You'll find bus and train stops close by with frequent services to help you get where you need to go and park your car down the back of the apartment to avoid the parking meters.
You should also try the City Cat fast ferry service along the river to Southbank with the new Milton Ferry Terminal completed just a short walk away. There's another wonderful kid's playground which has just been completed at Southbank - well worth checking out! SoutbankStuff

If you’re visiting friends at the Wesley Hospital there’s a great shortcut so they’re only 5 minutes stroll away.
It's a 3 minute drive to the massive Toowong Shopping Village, just refurbished, for anything else you may need.

Green Gables is the most charming home! The primary bed was amazingly comfortable. The heat/aircon worked wonderfully. The appliances were all functioning perfectly. The home was very clean. Every creature comfort was provided. I could not have asked for a better home away from home.

Great little hidden Gem
Green Gables is a perfect little unit in Brisbane, we stayed for the NRL Magic Round and was in a perfect location close to Suncorp Stadium, Train Station and only 2 stops away from Brisbane CBD. Jen and Ian are great Hosts and took Great care of us, will definitely be staying again!!

Beautiful, authentic and quiet yet central apartment
We stayed for 5 nights in this wonderful apartment where we felt very much at home. It provides everything we needed and more, and the hosts were very kind and quick to respond. Train station 3 mins walk, couple of supermarkets and delis around and getting to Roma Street is 10 mins with the city bikes. We love to stay at this apartment again!

Little Oasis That Delivers

Perfect little inner city getaway
Most wonderful and warm hosts, very accommodating and prompt response. This little cottage is located convenient location, quick drive to the city and shops, swell as Suncorp stadium. We loved our little stay here and would highly reccomend. **Accessible shower, no step. Large kitchen with everything you need to make your own meals if you wish" Thanks again Ian and Jenny!

Great place to stay
This is a lovely well appointed home close to city, transport, restaurants & attractions. The owners are caring & thoughtful. The place is spotless & well maintained. And it has a great atmosphere too. Quiet street but close to everything - a really good choice for so many reasons. I’m so glad I found it . Highly recommend it.

Jen and Ian were welcoming from our first exchanges, efficient friendly and engaging. They were also welcoming toward our two small children.
The apartment was clean, smart and comfortable. It was well furnished without being cluttered, important for a small space in which four of us lived over the weekend.

We were made to feel very welcome with our hosts Jen and Ian with pre arrival communications and some lovely welcoming gestures on arrival - that they had left for us. Jen was very generous with her time in making sure we knew to ask for anything we might need and in texts emails and phone calls to assist us with our stay. The apartment was very comfortable and everything was as the listing had advertised. It was cute, and so handy and close to the train and bus stops. Far enough away from the city to be away from the hustle and bustle but walking distance to the neighbouring suburbs restaurants and cafes and easy to get to the city and other inner suburbs.

We had a very good time in this charming and confortable house. Big enough for our family of 4 in a very quiet area. We loved the European touch of the house. The perfect place to be in Brisbane : very close to the city and Southbank and only 25' by car from the airport. Free parking at the back of the house.
Jen and Ian were so welcoming, being careful to all of our questions. Very lovely people.

The welcome card is soooo sweet. Jan and Lan are very kindly allowed us to do early check-in and late check-out, even we have not met each other during my stay, but we communicated by text very smoothly. The house is quite charming, especially the common room, and just perfectly suitable to 4 adults to 1-2 nights stay, very near train station and surrounding is quiet.

A gorgeous cottage which is very close to the Wesley hospital and Park Rd cafés. Jen and I didn't meet but spoke regularly during the stay. Jen is very accommodating and caring. The description is very accurate and I would certainly recommend the cottage.

I was introduced to Airbnb by a friend and when we were spending a weekend in Brisbane recently I joined up and discovered this charming apartment called Green Gables in Auchenflower.
The apartment is owned by Jen & Ian and they were so amazing. From the arrangements made prior to arriving at the apartment and whilst we were there, they made us feel so welcome and we were part of their family. The apartment was charming and comfortable, a home away from home in a quiet neighbourhood. Jen even left a plate of yummy treats for us. We had the privilege of meeting Jen & Ian on the morning we checked out and we felt we were saying goodbye to family members.
We fully recommend staying at Green Gables when you need a getaway in Brisbane as it's close to the South Bank and to the city centre. Thank you Jen & Ian for having us.

Jen and Ian are very kind,welcoming hosts. Though we are not able to meet them in person, they made the effort to contact us a few times to ensure that everything was in order and that we enjoyed our stay there. The apartment is conveniently located near the Auchenflower station and is also rather easy to get to/fro from the motorway. The apartment was exactly as we saw in the pictures and my friends and I enjoyed playing on the grand piano. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely go back there if we have a chance.

We really enjoyed our stay at Green Gables. It is a light and airy apartment at the front of the block, with a large living area/kitchen and front verandah. Its close to everything, with trains and buses in walking distance and a great little take away at the end of the street. Thoroughly recommend it.

Green Gables is a clean, well-equipped little apartment in the inner suburbs of Brisbane. It is well-served by public transport (bus, train and ferry stations all within short walks) and close enough to the city that you can even walk there. It is a traditional Queensland-style weatherboard house, so an authentic experience for visitors. Jen and Ian would have to be about the loveliest, warmest hosts you can imagine, they check in regularly to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. They also provide wifi and have a coffee percolator so I was very happy about that!

Brilliant - I wasn't expecting that!”
What a delight to stay four nights at Ian & Jen's "Green Gables". My family easily fitted into this cosy heritage styled apartment. "GG" had a great kitchen kitted out with everything we needed if we chose to eat in or close proximity to many fine eating out options. Ian left some scrumptious fruit cake for us which made cuppas on the verandah extra special. The beds were super comfy & my daughter just loved tinkling on the grand piano (brilliant I wasn't expecting that!). We loved being 'river' people & with the City Cat close by we didn't use the car - opting for cruising up or down the river - a thoroughly pleasant experience! The best part about our stay however was connecting with Ian & Jen - the most caring & generous people who communicate so warmly & checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed (& more)! We look forward to meeting you face to face one day Ian & Jen when we "Runaway to Maleny"!! Thanks again for letting us stay at "Green Gables" - we will be back for sure! xxxxx

We truly fell in love with Green Gables, it was an amazing blessing to have had the pleasure to stay in your peaceful sanctuary. We also throughly enjoyed getting to know the little town of Auchenflower -where we walked every morning and evening as a family together! it really is such a pleasant and safe neighborhood - Being all the way from Hawaii we are just so happy that by Divine intervention we somehow or other found each other and found our way to stay with you - at Green Gables truly the very best place we could have ended up!

Green Gables is a different kind of accommodation from what I'm used to. It is the owners (Ian & Jen's) city pad. There was a lovely welcome card, complimentary home made fruit cake and muesli in the fridge and Jen couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was a pleasant experience, Savannah was also very helpful. The location was perfect for us as it was within walking distance to where we needed to be, two minutes to the train station (one stop from the shopping centre), a close walk to the river boats and it was very quiet spot. It was hard to leave after four nights as it felt like a second home. I will definitely be looking to stay there again when I visit Brisbane. I would have no hesitation in recommending Green Gables as a place to stay.

My daughter and I have just spent a lovely weekend in Brisbane shopping for a formal dress and attending the UQ Open Day. We stayed at Green Gables which was perfect for us; airy and spacious, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, a desk in the second bedroom so my daughter could squeeze some school work into a very full weekend, and car parking available both on the street at the front door or in the back garden.
Green Gables is in a great location; easy to get to from the airport, close to the city and shopping in Paddington, Toowong and Indooroopilly, and just a few minute drive along Coronation Drive to the university.
We walked easily to local shops in Milton to pick up supplies and take-aways, and while we ran out of time this weekend, we could have easily walked to both the ferry terminal or to the train station if we relying on public transport.

I wish i could have submitted this review earlier but due to some complications at home, this review was delayed. My friends and I stayed at Green Gables on the 21st to the 23rd of October and it was a really lovely experience.
Green Gables is a wonderful cottage apartment that me and my friends called our home away from home.
Jen and Ian were both lovely host that were very welcoming and catered to our needs. It was a pity that we couldn't meet face to face but their presence was felt throughout our stay.
The nice little touches that were done for our stay was greatly appreciated. The wonderful veranda was also a great place for us to sit down and have a nice chat in the evenings.
The location was also wonderful as it is close to the Brisbane CBD. Additionally, the lovely free parking at the back of the apartment was great as it was just what we required on our stay.
Jen and Ian made our stay a memorable one as they even gave us suggestions on where we could find food nearby.
We would definitely stay at the Green Gables again on our next visit to Brisbane.

Jenny and Ian's little cottage is a home away from home in a very convenient position, just minutes to the city or Toowong. It was wonderful to be there and have that lovely space to myself so I could get on with my own things. The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything you need is supplied, and the little welcome pack was much appreciated. Very appreciative also of the easy and attentive communication during the organising phase. Highly recommended! Will definitely book again on my next trip to Brisbane. Thank you!!!

Green Gables is a cosy, traditional semi-detached Queenslander cottage, that comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a grand piano. It is located in a quiet inner Brisbane suburb with lovely & helpful neighbours, close to Brisbane city, Suncorp Stadium, Wesley Hospital and the Southbank cultural hub. Off street parking. Descriptions and instructions for guests are accurate and the hosts are happy to respond to queries. Will definitely stay there again.

We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we booked. There was homemade cake and muesli for us to try and Ian phoned during our visit to check all was OK. The spacious living/kitchen area was welcome (we were a family of 4) although there wasn't a sofa and the TV is in the bedroom. The teenagers were very pleased with their accommodation - the number of pillows and softness of the blankets surpassing their previous experiences of holiday rentals! Green Gables very much has a "lived in" feel. Some of the owner's personal effects are in evidence, although the details do say to expect this and it does contribute to the "at home" feel. It's an interesting 40 minute walk into the city along the river, away from the road, or the ferry terminal is less than 10 minutes away; beware it's quite a hill back!

Recently stayed at Green Gables for a Friend’s wedding in Brisbane. The house itself is fantastic. Exactly as seen the photos. Very clean all everything required is provided. Location is great, it's just outside the city but loads of local shops / bars / cafes all very close. Transport into the city is easy and quick, bus or train stops close by. We got the ferry into the city which was a nice way to travel. Jen and Ian was excellent hosts, anything we needed was dealt with quickly and great to deal with. Highly recommend this house to anybody wanting to stay in Brisbane

We stayed at Green Gables for 5 nights over Melbourne Cup long weekend. Having lived in Auchenflower 12 years ago, we chose GG as we wanted to stay in a traditional Queenslander, not a hotel. I think it was even nicer than the photos suggest and Jen and Ian are lovely people and were extremely welcoming and easy to deal without throughout the whole experience. We loved the yummy fruitcake and chocolates waiting for us when we arrived! GG was clean and tidy and in a great location close to public transport, making it easy to get around if you don’t have a car.
We would definitely stay here again if we visit Brisbane again. Thanks Jen & Ian, it was a pleasure.
